Scour the Internet for articles that focus on the militarization of police in the United States.  Broaden your search to include articles that focus on recent civil unrest in Minneapolis, Atlanta, Seattle, Fergusson, Baltimore, Cincinnati and other major cities relating to white police officers’ use of deadly force against unarmed black males.  In your opinion, what is causing this phenomenon? Does the “warrior” mentality of the police and their militaristic build-up contribute to their quick use of force? What impact do you think the impact of violent black male on black male crime has on police when they answer a call.  Maybe the police are scared? Are they too abusive? Are they racist?  What other factors may be at work here?  What impact does the media have on our perception of police brutality.
