In February of 1994 a devastating ice storm struck Memphis. After midnight, ice damage began to occur as trees fell and power-lines snapped. In June of 2003, Hurricane Elvis beginning as a summer storm but accelerating to 110 mile per hour winds with driving rain brought the city to a halt as the ice storm had done in 1994. Trees crashed down all over town, power lines went down, homes and cars damaged and electricity lost. In your posting address these 4 points:
1. Write a statement of your memories of events that occurred during the ice storm and Hurricane Elvis. If you were not in Memphis, find someone who was and use their comments or use Google to find comments.
2. What health and safety consequences could result from the conditions caused by the ice storm?
